About Subway: The Series
Mary Frick has just been laid off from her job as an IT tech for financial services conglomerate Berman Brothers. Now this loner is forced to interact with people and find ways to stay in New York City. NYC is an expensive place to live but she can't go back to living with her Pennsylvania Dutch Mennonite parents. Mary has always been a bit of a disappointment since she never really fit in Lancaster, PA with her being too germaphobic for farming, love for technology, "English" ways and being "Tall" for an Asian since her short-statured parents expected a small child when they adopted her on a mission in China.
After an incident on the subway, Mary becomes friends with an aspiring "artiste", David Ho. David helps Mary to feel less alone and teaches her how to be "Asian" since his adoptive parents are Korean. David grew up in a strict Evangelical Christian household after being "saved" by The Hos when his biological parents were killed due to gang violence in Houston, Texas.
Subway: The Series is an award-winning webseries filmed on the NYC subway guerilla style (no permits, very little money) where you will follow the adventures of Mary and David while meeting lots of interesting characters. Every episode is inspired by true subway stories and features local indie musicians like The Saw Lady and Cathy Grier (aka NYC Subway Girl) who composed the theme song.
